You will need to enter three things in your ftp client to be able to access your online hosting space for file transer.
First, input the name of the site:  mydomain.com is fine....you don't need to put in the www in the beginning.
Next, your username that was emailed to you when you signed up for hosting.
Last, your password that also was sent just after signup.
When your ftp program connects it will list the server on the right and your computer on the left.
Make sure you open the directory on the right that is the place to store anything online.
This directory is usually named public_html. After opening that directory, look at the left side of the window and navigate to the location on your local computer where your website html files are stored. Select the files and click the right facing arrow at the middle top of the ftp program that is pointed toward the right side of the screen. This will send the files to your online space.
Last, check your site online. It should be posted.
